1. Who we are

CTCLie (ctclie.com) is an independent salary transparency tool. Our contact email is hello@ctclie.com. When this policy says "we," "us," or "CTCLie," we mean the operators of ctclie.com.

2. What we collect

Information collected automatically

When you visit CTCLie, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may log standard web request data including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL and pages visited. This is standard for all web hosting and is used for security and uptime purposes.

We also use anonymised analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics or Google Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic — for example, how many visitors come from the US vs India, which calculator pages are most used and whether the site loads quickly. This data is not tied to any individual.

Information you give us

If you contact us at hello@ctclie.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you and don't add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

If you use a contact form on this site, we collect the same: name, email and your message.

3. Your salary data

We do not collect, store or transmit your salary figures. Every calculation you run on CTCLie — whether that's a $250,000 US total compensation breakdown or a 30 LPA India in-hand calculation runs entirely within your web browser using JavaScript.

Your numbers never leave your device. We have no database of salaries. We cannot see what figure you entered. There is nothing to delete or request about your calculator usage because it was never recorded.

When you use the "share" feature to generate a shareable link, that link encodes your inputs as URL parameters (visible in the URL bar) — we do not store these links server-side. They exist only in the URL you share.

4. Cookies and advertising

Essential cookies

CTCLie may store minimal data in your browser's local storage (not traditional cookies) to remember UI preferences such as your last selected country or tax regime. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Advertising cookies All users

CTCLie may display ads through Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. These cookies are set by Google, not by us. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads or by visiting optout.aboutads.info.

Analytics cookies

If we use Google Analytics, it sets cookies to measure traffic patterns. This data is anonymised and aggregated. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Third-party services

We may link to or display content from the following third parties, each governed by their own privacy policies:

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data with any third party for their marketing purposes.

6. California residents (CCPA) US

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
